The State Duma warned about the risks of complaints against management companies
Complaints to the housing inspectorate about the work of management companies do not always lead to an improvement in the maintenance of houses and can have negative consequences for residents. This was announced on January 26 by Svetlana Razvorotneva, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Construction and Housing and Communal Services.
"If you have any complaints about the work of the management company, you can immediately send complaints to the state housing inspectorate of your region. The inspector will go out for an extraordinary check, perhaps even find violations and fine the Criminal Code," TASS quoted Razvorotneva as saying.
According to her, the problem lies in the fact that fines do not improve the quality of service at home, but are paid at the expense of funds that could be used for maintenance and repairs. The MP stressed that a more effective mechanism is often the constant control of the owners themselves over the activities of the management company.
Earlier that day, it was reported that administrative and criminal liability could be incurred for distributing personal data without the consent of citizens in house chats. The State Duma warned that such chats are often recognized as public, and publishing addresses, phone numbers and other personal information can result in a fine of up to 200,000 rubles or imprisonment for up to two years.
