The man who rescued people from a car that fell into the water in Makhachkala told about the incident

In Makhachkala, passers-by rescued a mother and child from a taxi that had fallen into a water channel, and the driver of the car managed to get out himself. On January 25, one of the rescue participants, Asadulla Magomedov, told Izvestia about the incident.

"The three of them went down and pulled the woman out. They took each other's hands, you could say they made a ladder, and pulled them out. <...> I think anyone would have done that in my place. I just happened to be in the right place at the right time," Magomedov shared.

He said that he was driving home with his mother past the canal when he saw a car with people in the canal. The man added that at first he wanted to dive, but saw a pipe passing over the canal and realized that the car would be able to swim to it.

"He climbed up the chimney and shouted, 'Pull up the baby.' Pulled it out. There were more people on the pipe, they passed it through them," Magomedov said.

After that, he and several other people ran to the next pipe and, tying themselves with cables, pulled the woman out. The eyewitness's uncle Magomed Zainalabidov added that after seeing the footage of the sinking car, he did not immediately recognize his nephew.

Zainalabidov noted that many passers-by came to rescue the mother and child. People living in houses next to the canal opened the gates so that the injured could enter and receive help.

Earlier that day, taxi driver Nurislam Ramazanov, whose car fell into a water channel in Makhachkala, told Izvestia that he was taking a mother and child to the hospital when he had to avoid a parked car on the road. As a result, he lost control of the car, after which it fell into the water. Almost immediately, witnesses of the incident came to the rescue, who climbed onto a pipe passing through the canal.
