Climbing: how is the recruitment of unmanned systems for new troops going?
The use of strategic aircraft of the Geranium type, FPV attack copters, ground-based robotic complexes, marine and river unmanned boats — all this is the area of responsibility of the new troops of unmanned systems, the formation of which began last year. Recruitment of those willing to serve in them is now underway in all regions of the country. There are many young people among the volunteers who are striving to master the most modern technology. They are attracted by the opportunity not only to help achieve their goals, but also to get a promising profession that will help them find a good and interesting job in the future.
The queue for signing the contract
The Moscow military service selection center on Yablochkova Street has been crowded since the morning. First of all, candidates fill out applications for contract service, receive a coupon with a number and wait for a call to office 101, where they are assigned personal files. The electronic queue is no different from those we know from the MFC and other similar institutions — the ticket number lights up on the board, and you go to register.
The candidates are mostly young men. While there is time, they get to know each other, ask who is from where and where they are going to serve.
Everyone tries to look as solid as possible and stay calm, but you can still feel the excitement. Alexey Salchak came from Tuva. He is 18 years old, but he already has an art college under his belt, where he became a stonecutter.
"I've always wanted to join the army, ever since I was in the Cadet corps," he says. — My older brother is a participant in a special military operation. He has been serving in the Airborne Forces as a sniper for more than two years. He recently received the Zhukov Medal for his combat work. He came and talked a lot about the service. When I decided to join the army, he recommended unmanned troops, said they were very modern and promising.
Alexey has a dream — he wants to become a tactical UAV operator so that he can meet his brother in the free zone.
"I would use a drone to conduct reconnaissance, I would look for targets for it," he admits.
I ask how his family reacted to his decision to volunteer to serve. Alexey is silent for a few seconds, but then he tells everything honestly.
— I had a serious conversation with my father. He thought it was too early for me to participate in his, he's still young," says the guy.
— And how did it end?
— In the end, he realized that this was not a whim, and blessed it.
Ivan Rozhdestvensky from the Khabarovsk Territory says that he looked and thought for a long time before signing the contract.
"A lot of my friends are involved in combat," he explains. — They come on vacation and tell us how things are at the front, what about the living conditions. And I finally made a decision — I'm going.
He could have gone to work for an IT company, but chose the army.
— Now we must stand up for the Motherland, — he is sure.
Modern technology and good prospects
"I liked drones, and I'm consciously going to work with them," says volunteer Dmitry Razmyslov.
He admits that his attachment to technology, which until recently he had only seen in science fiction films, arose after the very first launch of the drone.
On a fishing trip, friends of the guys let him steer a small copter, and he realized that it was his.
— After all, you experience unforgettable sensations during the flight. In computer toys, everything is very similar to reality, but it's still a fake," explains Dmitry.
It is clear from the conversations that young people are most attracted to the opportunity to master the latest technology and get a profession that will then be in demand in the civilian world.
— You need to think about how you will live after your military service, and then you will become a specialist in the army who will be in demand in a new, rapidly developing industry, — says Dmitry.
Special testing
There is a small library in the waiting room so that candidates can pass the time. The books are usually heroic and expertly selected: Viktor Nekrasov's "In the Trenches of Stalingrad", Boris Vasiliev's "And the Dawns Here are Quiet..." and even Homer's "Iliad" are on the shelves.
Dmitry chooses "On the Western Front without Change" by Erich Maria Remarque and flips through the book until he is called.
— It's well written about the combat brotherhood here. And we have everyone on the front line protecting each other. A good unit is a good team. I want to get into one as soon as possible," he smiles.
It takes no more than half an hour to complete a personal file. Next, the volunteers will receive a military medical commission, psychological testing, as well as special tasks on FPV drone simulators. The exercises help to find out how well the candidate has developed the vestibular apparatus and fine motor skills of the hands, which is important when controlling drones of any type.
Based on the results of such testing, it will be determined whether the volunteer will be sent for training in the specialty "drone operator" or will master the military profession of an engineer or a BPS technician servicing robotic systems.
The guys admit that it is important for them that they can sign a contract for a period of one year or more, and then they will decide whether to continue their service or not. Although, of course, we are sure that they will succeed.
The transfer takes place within one day. After the selection, the volunteers will receive a training course of a month or more, depending on the type of unmanned complex or vehicle they will work with, and only then transfer to combat units.
— The opportunity to become a soldier of the BPS forces is of great interest to young guys, — said the officer of the selection point, Lieutenant Mikhail Khristinin. — Of course, modern equipment attracts, as well as the opportunity to study with instructors with combat experience. It is also important that all of them will serve their contracts in the BPS troops, they will not be transferred to other units.
After graduation, all the guys will definitely be in demand in the Ministry of Emergency Situations, fire services, civil structures and firms, the officer is sure.
