The United States wants to deploy a logistics support base for the nuclear submarine fleet in Greenland. Alexander Stepanov, a military expert at the RANEPA Institute of Law and National Security, told about this on January 25.
"They will be deploying new military infrastructure there. They need to create a logistics support base for the nuclear submarine fleet. <...> They must ensure the militarization of the Arctic area as part of the strategy of the US presence and dominance in the Arctic space. Therefore, Greenland is a priority springboard for them," he told TASS.
