Vilfand reported cold weather for the weekend in the regions of Russia

Roman Vilfand, scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, said on January 24 that very cold weather is expected in all regions of Russia over the weekend — up to -47 degrees.

"In the Southern Federal District [Southern Federal District] on January 24-26, the temperature is 6-12 degrees below normal. This means that the prevailing temperature is — –12-20 below zero at night. In the Volgograd region, it is up to -24, in the Krasnodar Territory the minimum value is about -10," TASS quoted.

In the Urals, the air temperature will be 8-15 degrees below normal — up to -40-43 degrees. in the south of Siberia— it is 7-16 degrees below normal and, accordingly, up to -41 degrees.

In the Far East, on weekends and on Monday, temperatures are 6-7 degrees below normal. In Transbaikalia and Buryatia, the temperature will drop to -47 degrees.
