Unified Olympic uniform introduced in Russia

For the first time in history, Russian national teams in all sports will wear the same uniform. The new collection from Bosco is called "Golden Legacy". It was personally evaluated by Mikhail Degtyarev, Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), at the Kaluga factory on January 23.

"There will be a single brand, the Russian team. Before that, it belonged to the Olympic Committee and it was not transferred to the Ministry of Sports. Russia always goes to competitions only for gold," Degtyarev emphasized.

The Minister noted that the national uniform of Russia at the Olympic Games in Vancouver-2010, Sochi-2014 and Moscow–1980 can be guessed in the motives of the clothes. It is specified that Russian athletes may appear in new uniforms at the upcoming international competitions, where athletes with a flag and anthem are allowed.

Degtyarev announced on the same day that the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) had allowed Russian athletes under the age of 23 to compete with the flag and anthem. It was noted that the IWF allows adult Russian athletes to participate in international tournaments in a neutral status.
