A 10-year-old girl who suffocated in a snowdrift was dug out of the snow by her mother in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. This was reported on January 23 in the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Republic of Khakassia.

"The minor was playing on the street next to the house on Sovkhoznaya Street in the village of Berezovka. The girl was digging a tunnel in a large snowdrift, during which the upper part of the snow collapsed and blocked the exit. The child could not get out and died," the message on the Telegram channel of the regional GSU IC says.

The girl's family began to look for her when she was too late for a walk — she was gone for about an hour, writes RT. It is noted that a criminal case has been opened into the death of the girl on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Article 109 ("Causing death by negligence").
