Kosachev spoke about the Russian scenario of the conflict in Ukraine
The talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and the American delegation showed that the conflict in Ukraine is developing according to the Russian scenario. This was announced on January 23 by Konstantin Kosachev, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council.
"Unplanned, at the flick of the U.S. president's finger [Donald Trump] arrival in Davos of [Ukrainian President Vladimir] Zelensky and the planned, regular talks between the Russian president and the American negotiating group in the Kremlin confirm the main thing: the conflict is developing according to the Russian, not the Ukrainian, and even more so not according to the European scenario," Kosachev wrote on his Telegram channel.
He added that the United States clearly understands this, and without their participation, negotiations could not have taken place for a long time.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that Putin's talks with the US President's special envoy Stephen Witkoff and the American delegation ended after more than three and a half hours. They were attended by Russian Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov, Special Representative Kirill Dmitriev, Affinity Partners founder Jared Kushner, and White House Senior Adviser Josh Grunbaum.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on January 22 praised the efforts of the United States in the negotiation process.
