More than 235 million people in more than 40 U.S. states — from Arizona to Maine — are on the path of a massive winter storm that is expected to cover over 2,000 miles and bring heavy snow and ice on Friday. This was announced on January 22 by the Fox Weather website.

"It is expected that the subsequent flow of Arctic air associated with the polar vortex will lead to dangerous refreezing, which can cause prolonged power outages and travel paralysis for several days," the publication says.

It is noted that by 21:00 US Eastern time on Thursday (5:00 on Friday Moscow time), almost 1.3 thousand flights across the United States have already been canceled until Saturday, and thousands more are planned to be canceled before the beginning of next week.
