Macron provoked a sharp increase in orders for glasses with his visit to Davos
The appearance of French President Emmanuel Macron in sunglasses at the World Economic Forum in Davos caused a significant increase in orders for this accessory. This was reported on January 22 by the French magazine Valeurs Auctuelles.
According to the publication, Macron's appearance made a strong impression on his speech. The model of glasses worn by the president is entirely handmade in France, and it can take up to four months to create one pair.
"We were very happy because the president wanted to promote a product made in France," said Henri Julien, CEO of the company.
US President Donald Trump praised Macron's sunglasses during his visit to the World Economic Forum in Davos on January 21. The American leader also added that he really likes Macron.
On January 16, Macron appeared in sunglasses to hide his reddened right eye during a meeting at the Elysee Palace dedicated to the institutional future of New Caledonia. Earlier, he spoke to the military with a burst blood vessel in his eye. The French president apologized for his unsightly appearance, but added that nothing serious had happened to him.
