On January 22, the governor of the Kemerovo region, Ilya Seredyuk, did not agree with the version that the doctors' mistake was the cause of the deaths of nine babies in the Novokuznetsk maternity hospital.

"Doctors' mistake — this reason is untenable here, because each baby had its own attending physician. It is impossible for all attending doctors to make one mistake at the same time," he said.
