According to the forecaster, the upcoming weekend, January 24 and 25, will be the coldest of the entire winter. Frosts of up to -21...-23 degrees are forecast in Moscow on Saturday, up to -25 degrees in the region, and a peak of cold weather is expected on Sunday: the minimum temperature may reach -23...-28 degrees, in places in the Moscow region — up to -30 degrees. During the day, the thermometer will stay within -15...-20 degrees, which is 13-14 degrees below normal.
Earlier in the day, the Hydrometeorological Center reported that frosty weather in the Moscow region will continue from the end of the current working week until Monday. 30-degree frosts will arrive in the Moscow region on the night of January 25, RIAMO notes.
Also on January 22, the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, Roman Vilfand, said that on Tuesday the temperature would still be below normal by a couple of degrees, but night temperatures are already expected to be 10-13 degrees, and daytime — –4–8 degrees.
