- The start of the VI season of the All-Russian sports project competition "You're in the game" has been announced
On January 21, the VI season of the All-Russian sports project competition "You're in the game" started. The launch was announced by the Minister of Sports, Chairman of the Russian Olympic Committee Mikhail Degtyarev.
"You're in the game" opens up many projects on a wide variety of sports, among which there are more and more basketball initiatives every year. To draw additional attention to this sport and emphasize its accessibility for everyone, the ceremony was timed to coincide with a bright and spectacular event: Mikhail Degtyarev made a symbolic throw-in before the start of the VTB United League basketball match between CSKA and Uralmash teams.
"President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin has set a goal for us: by 2030, at least 70% of Russian citizens should regularly engage in physical education and sports. Among other things, the “You're in the Game” contest contributes to its achievement. Every season it becomes more ambitious: the number of participants grows, projects with new sports directions appear. For 5 seasons, the competition has received more than 21 thousand applications from all over the country. It is important that among them there are projects that are already developing adaptive and digital sports, reviving our traditional sports. We invite the authors of bright sports projects to take part in Season 6 and receive additional support for their implementation!" said Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia.
The main task of the "You're in the Game" contest is to find and celebrate bright and promising projects that help involve Russians in sports. "You're in the game" is held annually under the state program "Sport of Russia" with the support of the Ministry of Sports.
"The start of the new season of the "You're in the Game!" competition is part of the Ministry of Sports' systematic work to involve citizens in regular physical activity. Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin has repeatedly stressed that sport helps shape character and instills the values of a healthy lifestyle. This is exactly what the "You're in the Game" contest, which is held as part of the comprehensive state program "Sport of Russia", is aimed at. Over the past five seasons, the competition has brought together thousands of projects in such areas as mass sports, youth sports, adaptive sports, support for veterans of the military and others. The projects that participated in the competition bring together more than 20 million people across the country. Among them are the authors of small local initiatives, as well as large-scale projects and integrated digital solutions. For many of them, the support of the Ministry of Sports within the framework of the competition has become a good impetus for development and scaling," said Degtyarev.
The sixth season of the competition features five main nominations – "Starting point", "Scale", "Children in sports", "Transformation in sports", "Limitless opportunities", as well as three nominations from the partners of the competition – "Corporate Sports", "Sports Tourism", "Media".
Each season, the participants' projects are evaluated by the best industry experts.
