Trump named possible successors in future US presidential elections
On January 22, US President Donald Trump said that the Republican Party already has a "strong bench" of politicians who could run for the 2028 elections and continue his political legacy.
"We certainly have a good bench [of candidates]. We have very talented people," Trump commented.
The American leader added that it is premature to talk about a specific candidate now, as many things may change in the coming years, but there are already several notable figures. The US President singled out Vice President Jay Dee Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Treasury Secretary Scott Besent.
Trump also confirmed that he does not plan to run for a third term in 2028, citing the restrictions set by the US Constitution, and is focused on the current term.
Earlier, on January 21, the American leader said during a speech at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos that the conflict in Ukraine would not have started if the 2020 presidential elections had not been rigged in favor of the Democratic Party.
