The Russian Olympic Committee has approved the mascot of the national team
The Russian Olympic Committee has officially registered the national team's mascot in the form of a teddy bear. This became known on January 22.
The updated mascot is based on the official mascot of the 1980 Olympics. He is a full-length brown bear with a medal on his chest, where the logo of the Russian Olympic Committee is depicted.
According to RIA Novosti, the application was submitted in July 2025. In January, Rospatent made a positive decision on registration.
Earlier, on December 10, 2025, Russian Sports Minister Mikhail Degtyarev announced that the mascot was being developed based on one of the most recognizable mascots of the XXII Olympic Games in 1980 in Moscow.
