Vilfand reported a cold snap on Thursday in Moscow

Moscow will experience a cold snap to -13 degrees on Thursday. This was announced on January 22 by the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia Roman Vilfand.

"In the coming night, the influence of high pressure from the east will have an effect. The night temperature in the capital is from -10 to -12, in the region up to -13. By the way, the temperature in the city center will be higher. It will be there from -6 to -8. And it's not hot at all during the day, from -8 to -10," the TASS news agency quoted.

It is noted that this temperature is four degrees below normal.

At the same time, a cold snap is expected on Friday, up to -17 degrees. The air temperature will be even lower over the weekend.

"Firstly, the pressure will increase by another 2-3 mm. And already daytime temperatures will be around -15 degrees. And on Saturday night in Moscow it is about -20 degrees, in the region to -26 degrees, and on Sunday it will further decrease to -24 degrees, and in the region to -28 degrees," Vilfand added.
