ROSSETI will invest 12.6 billion rubles in the power grid of the Novgorod region
This year, ROSSETI will allocate over 12.6 billion rubles for the development of the Novgorod Region's electric grid complex. About 300 km of power transmission lines and 133 MVA of new transformer capacity will be put into operation, the head of the company, Andrey Ryumin, said at a meeting with the governor of the Novgorod Region, Alexander Dronov.
The head of the region noted that the deterioration of the power supply networks in the Novgorod region is more than 80%. "To remedy the situation, on behalf of the President of Russia, a program has been developed to improve the reliability of the Novgorod Region's electric grid complex in 2024-2027. In accordance with it, it is planned to reconstruct more than 60 power facilities, install over 750 km of self—supporting insulated wire on overhead power transmission lines that are resistant to ice formation," said Dronov.
He thanked the power engineers for their work on repairing power transmission lines, which were damaged due to heavy rainfall and squally winds in late December and early January. Colleagues from neighboring regions came to the aid of local specialists. In total, ROSSETI deployed 97 teams that repaired 2,000 power line breaks and removed 3.7 thousand fallen trees.
"The situation in the Novgorod region remains under special control. The reliability of the electricity supply to consumers here is affected not only by the weather, but also by the accumulated wear and tear of the networks in previous years. Overcoming this challenge is our key task. But it is also important to continue projects that create conditions for the development of the region," Ryumin added. He specified that preparations are underway for the opening of a new 330 kV main substation and the construction of power facilities for the Moscow—St. Petersburg high-speed railway is beginning.
