The expert spoke about the trends of renting country houses in Russia

The most popular destinations for "country" rentals among Russians are Karelia, Krasnodar Territory, Kaliningrad and Pskov regions, Dagestan. And if in the land of a thousand lakes the average price of a summer house per day starts from 14 thousand, then in other regions it is about 10 thousand rubles. Yuri Vyushin, Director of Hotel Market Development at the Tutu travel service, told Izvestia on January 22 what to look for when choosing a cottage.

According to him, it is better to book a house in advance: preferably five to seven weeks in advance, especially if there are clear wishes and requirements for housing.

"The most profitable days for check—in are from Sunday to Thursday, and Friday and Saturday are usually the most expensive. It is best to rent a house for a long time — from three nights. At the same time, it is better to visit the cottage on Sunday evening.: This way the roads to the location will not be too busy," Vyushin said.

On average, Russians rent private houses for five nights. Longer only in the Krasnodar Territory, tourists spend a week there. But people go to Karelia mainly on weekends — the average booking time there is two days. At the same time, the average cost of a day's stay in a country house is 9.6 thousand rubles.

When booking a house, you should pay attention to its category. In some cottage complexes, houses of the same category may differ in layout and set of amenities, so it is better to specify in advance how many bedrooms and sleeping places are provided.

"Carefully study the description of the rental property before booking: what exactly is included in the rental, what services are available on site and on what terms. If the place is new to you, it is better to read the reviews in advance and clarify the details. It is especially important to understand the format of the accommodation: sometimes a house is part of a large hotel complex with a full range of services, for example, catering, cleaning, reception. And sometimes it's a private house where the infrastructure may be minimal," the expert warned.
