The TFR is checking information about the improper maintenance of a cultural heritage site in Tula. The apartment building with an outbuilding of the merchant Strakhov is in poor condition.

As TSN24 writes with reference to the press service of the department, the building, built in the late 19th – early 20th century, is gradually falling into disrepair. There have been fires there several times, in 2014 the house was declared an emergency, and its residents were relocated.

However, the restoration of the building has not yet been carried out, despite the relevant court decision. For this reason, the investigators of the regional department of the Investigative Committee are conducting a procedural check.

Alexander Bastrykin, the head of the Investigative Committee, should be informed about the progress of the audit and the measures taken.

The house is included in the list of regional cultural monuments and has been under state protection since 1991. The regional Inspectorate for State Protection of Windows has already warned the owners about possible violations of the building maintenance regime. In 2024, a project for the restoration and adaptation of the estate passed a historical and cultural examination. Public hearings were also held.

Earlier it was reported that in Tula in 2027 they plan to open a branch of the Andrei Rublev Museum of Ancient Russian Culture and Art. The museum will be located in buildings recognized as objects of cultural heritage "Residential house of D.V. Lopatin, XVIII century." and "Manor buildings." The buildings will be restored while preserving their historical appearance. Their original color will be restored.
