Canada has begun preparations for a guerrilla war in the event of a U.S. invasion.
The Canadian military is working on scenarios for conducting guerrilla warfare in the event of a possible US invasion. This was reported on January 20 by the Globe and Mail newspaper, citing sources.
"The armed forces are considering insurgency tactics similar to those used by the Afghan mujahideen," the article says.
According to the newspaper, the Canadian command recognizes the lack of soldiers and weapons to repel the attack, therefore, if necessary, it will resort to sabotage and ambushes using drones. At the same time, relations with the American army remain positive so far.
Earlier, on January 18, it was reported that American political scientist Earl Rasmussen announced possible plans by US President Donald Trump to annex Greenland, which, in the future, may extend to Canada. He noted that this would put the country in an extremely unfavorable position, surrounding the United States from all sides and threatening to lose strategically important regions.
