European countries intend to convince US President Donald Trump to change the country's position on resolving the conflict in Ukraine. This was announced on January 20 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov during a press conference on the results of Russian diplomacy in 2025.

"Our Western, first of all, European neighbors did everything to disrupt these agreements. They behave in the same way towards the initiatives that the Trump administration is putting forward, trying in every possible way to convince the American administration not to negotiate with the Russian Federation," he said.
