A G4.33 magnetic storm has begun on Earth. This was announced on January 20 at the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy at the Institute of Space Research (IKI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

"It has been officially confirmed that a G4.33 planetary magnetic storm is taking place on Earth. The main question remains whether the highest level of G5 will be reached in the coming hours, which has been observed only once in the last 20 years — in May 2024," the Laboratory's Telegram channel says.

It is noted that the magnetic field induction shows values close to historical records.
