Janina called Valentino Garavani the last emperor of high fashion
Italian fashion designer Valentino Garavani was not just a maestro, but also the "last emperor" of high fashion. Yulia Yanina, the founder of the YANINA fashion house, told Izvestia about this on January 19.
"He was a really great man, a great designer, a real maestro. This was the last emperor <...> It's even hard to imagine that there won't be this beauty in the world," said Yanina.
She expressed her admiration for Garavani's work and called him her teacher. In her opinion, he could use the images he created to give a woman something fabulous. In this, according to Yanina, he was supported by Valentino co-founder Giancarlo Giammetti.
"They supported each other both in life and in business. He created so sincerely because Giancarlo became a wall for him that protected him from adversity and from non—creative issues," Yanina emphasized.
Yulia Yanina added that she was glad to be introduced to Garavani and participate in the events at the house.
"I was lucky enough to be at his anniversary celebrations in Rome, at the opening of his museum there. And I was also in his castle near Paris when he and Natasha Vodianova held a charity winter ball.<...> This aesthetic began with the perfect dress and continued with the perfect house, the perfect collections of antiques, art, and the perfect table setting. <...> Even cooking. He published a book with very interesting light and delicious recipes. This is an incredible depth!" — said the founder of the fashion house YANINA.
According to her, Valentino Garavani "created true beauty" while remaining himself.
La Repubblica Daily reported on Garavani's death at the age of 93 on the same day. The funeral of the fashion designer will be held on Friday, January 23, in Rome. It was clarified that the designer will be buried in the Church of Our Lady of the Great (Santa Maria Maggiore).
