On Thursday, January 22, US President Donald Trump plans to hold a signing ceremony for the agreement on the "Peace Council" on the Gaza Strip in Davos, Switzerland. This was reported on January 19 by Bloomberg, citing sources.

"According to sources familiar with the situation, Trump wants the full text of the committee's charter and powers to be signed in Davos on Thursday," the material says.

At the same time, a number of provisions of the document raised doubts among some invited participants and made them think about the expediency of joining the initiative.

In addition, according to the agency, French leader Emmanuel Macron has no plans to accept Trump's invitation to join the proposed "Peace Council."

The United States has invited Russia to participate in the new organization — the Kremlin is carefully studying the proposal.

Earlier, on January 14, the Axios portal reported that the United States had sent invitations to a number of states to join the "Peace Council" on the Gaza Strip.
