An orthopedic traumatologist of the highest category, an arthrologist, PhD Mikhail Doroshev told how to fall properly if there was a loss of balance in the icy conditions.

In an interview with the Health Mail on Monday, January 19, he noted that falling even from a height of his own height can lead to serious injuries, while their severity depends on age, health status and physical fitness. Proper actions at the time of the fall and preventive measures help to reduce the risk of consequences.

If balance is already lost, it is recommended first of all to protect your head by pulling up your chin and covering it with your hands, if possible, discard objects from your hands, turn your body to the side and try to relax. Bending your knees and arms, lowering your center of gravity, and trying to slow down your fall by grabbing a support also reduce the risk of injury.

Experts emphasize that you should not land on outstretched arms, elbows or knees — it is better to distribute the impact to larger parts of the body. If you have rolling or somersaulting skills, this can further soften the fall. After a fall, it is advised not to rush to get up and assess your well-being.

To prevent loss of balance, it is recommended to avoid slippery surfaces, wear stable seasonal shoes, use additional support if necessary, move in well-lit places and maintain physical fitness. It is also useful to master the technique of proper falling under the guidance of a coach. If you experience pain, dizziness, or other disturbing symptoms after a fall, experts advise you to seek medical help.

The "yellow" level of weather danger due to frost and ice will remain until the evening of January 22 in Moscow. Drivers are advised to avoid sudden maneuvers and keep their distance, while pedestrians are advised to wear stable shoes and move carefully. 360.ru .

On January 14, traumatologist Alexander Grigoriev recommended avoiding falling on his hands in front of him. According to him, you should bend your knees and elbows, tilt your head to your chest. It is worth trying to fall on your side, as the impact will spread over a larger area of the body, which will reduce the risk of injury, the Moscow City News agency reports.

On January 7, surgeon Sergey Khripkov told RT that during icy conditions, you can fall and get a wound, bruise, fractures and dislocations of the bones of the arms, ankles, as well as damage to the ankle and knee joints. According to him, if a person cannot get up or move independently, then it is worth calling an ambulance on their own or asking others.

Earlier, orthopedic traumatologist Konstantin Ternovoy said that during icy conditions it is best to wear the right shoes, look at your feet and not be distracted, and you should also wear a headdress. He stressed that it is very dangerous to look at the phone while driving, and not at the road, NSN notes.

Before that, doctor Andrey Tyazhelnikov called for avoiding thin jackets and alcohol in bad weather, and especially when there is ice on the roads. According to the doctor, it is better for women to change high—heeled shoes for flat boots, and fashionable light fur coats and jackets for more voluminous clothes, notes Pravda.Ru .
