Accidents on the roads of the Moscow region decreased during the New Year holidays. The largest number of accidents was registered on January 2 and 7.

According to the Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure, compared to the same period in 2025, the number of accidents decreased by 35%, with a total of 39 accidents with consequences registered. Six people were killed and 77 people were injured.

In 24 cases, there was a collision of vehicles. In addition, there were 13 collisions with pedestrians, five exits from the road, four collisions with an obstacle, two collisions with cars and one collision with an animal. This is what the online publication Podmoskovye Segodnya writes about.

In 77% of accidents, men were driving. The State Traffic Inspectorate tightened control on the roads, 180 administrative staff and volunteers were on duty every day.
