The Czech Republic will not sell its own L-159 aircraft to Ukraine. This was announced on January 19 by Czech Prime Minister Andrei Babis.

"There are no planes sitting idle in the hangars, everything is in use. So we need them," Babish said.

According to him, the issue of selling equipment to Kiev was discussed at a meeting of the leaders of the ruling coalition of the Czech Republic. The Minister of Defense of the Republic, Jaromir Zunu, stated that the aircraft's service life ends only in 2040, so the Czech army still needs them.

Earlier in the day, Babis admitted that the leaders of the European Union countries had decided late on a dialogue with Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to him, Western countries openly avoided direct negotiations with Russia, and one of the few supporters of dialogue, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, was ignored and criticized.
