The Russian government will allocate about 93 billion rubles in 2026 to implement an updated program for the socio-economic development of Crimea and Sevastopol. This was announced on January 19 by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

"In total, it is planned to allocate about 93 billion rubles for the implementation of the state program this year," Mishustin said, his words are quoted in the Telegram channel of the Russian government.

He also said that changes have been made to the program in a number of parameters, including the requirements of the spatial development strategy.

Within the framework of the document, work will continue to improve the social, transport and other infrastructure on the peninsula: dozens of km of gas and water supply networks will be built, the length of highways will be increased and major repairs of cultural heritage sites will be carried out.

"An important part for the formation of a favorable business climate in these regions is the creation of conditions for attracting investments. Including in the free economic zone. Its residents are provided with preferential loans. We expect that this solution will allow us to create over 8,000 new jobs," Mishustin added.

In November last year, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced that the Russian government would send about 33 billion rubles to almost 40 regions, including border regions, to co-finance socially significant expenses. It was clarified that the funds allocated would be used, in particular, for payments to teachers, medical staff, and employees of cultural institutions.
