The Moscow metro has been actively developing over the past 15 years. So, from 2011 to 2025, 127 new metro stations and the Moscow Central Ring were opened in Moscow. During the construction, metro builders actively apply new modern technologies and use unusual architectural solutions. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin spoke about the unique engineering and design approaches of Metrostroy in the channel of his personal blog in the MAX messenger.

In particular, the technology of building double-track tunnels was implemented for the first time on the Nekrasovskaya line of the Moscow Metro. The Nizhny Novgorod station of the Bolshaya Koltsevaya Line houses four tracks of the Nekrasovskaya and Bolshaya Koltsevaya lines in a single structural volume, and the Michurinsky Prospekt station of the Solntsevskaya line became the first semi-underground station with asymmetric track walls in the Moscow metro. During the construction of the Bolshaya Koltsevaya Line, the technology of double-track tunnels was actively used, and now it is actively used in the construction of the Rublyovo-Arkhangelsk branch. In the future, such solutions are planned to be applied at the Biryulyovo radius.

The designers of the Moscow metro stations also actively use unusual architectural and planning solutions. For example, glass was used for ceiling decoration at the Innovatorskaya BKL station for the first time in the Moscow metro. At Vorontsovskaya station, the ceiling is made in the form of the Milky Way, consisting of 11,600 aluminum cylinders, which are located on 9 levels. At the semi-underground stations Michurinsky Prospekt and Pykhtino, panoramic glazing is used in the design, which provides the platforms with natural light. And at the Troparevo station, the hall is decorated in the style of a park alley with 10 tree lights.
