Two-time Olympic hockey champion and State Duma deputy Vyacheslav Fetisov said on January 17 that goalkeepers at the level of Florida Panthers goalkeeper Sergei Bobrovsky should not concede nine goals in one match.

On January 16, for the first time in his career, the Russian goalkeeper conceded nine goals in one NHL game against the Carolina Hurricanes, which ended with a score of 9.:1. Bobrovsky deflected 26 shots out of 35.

"Goalkeepers of this level shouldn't miss so much," Fetisov told RIA Novosti.

He added that Bobrovsky has the necessary experience to overcome this unsuccessful match.

US President Donald Trump shook hands with Russian hockey player Sergei Bobrovsky and called him a "legendary goalkeeper" during the reception of the Stanley Cup champions at the White House on January 15. He also mentioned Florida Panthers hockey player, defenseman Aaron Ekblad, who scored a record 13 points in 19 playoff games.
