An ambulance team in Russia must reach the patient within 20 minutes of the call. Information about this follows on January 17 from the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation.

According to the document reviewed by RIA Novosti, the specified limit is applied when providing emergency medical care.

As specified by "Gazeta.Ru", regional authorities can adjust this standard in territorial state guarantee programs, taking into account objective factors: transport accessibility, population density, climatic and geographical features of a particular territory.

In 2026, free medical care in Russia will be provided for more than 20 types of diseases and conditions. According to the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation dated January 10, the list includes infectious and parasitic diseases, neoplasms, diseases of the endocrine and nervous systems, blood and circulation, skin and musculoskeletal system, respiratory, digestive, and genitourinary systems, diseases of the eyes and ears. Free assistance will also be provided for injuries, poisoning, pregnancy, childbirth, abortions and certain conditions in children during the perinatal period.
