The farewell to Igor Zolotovitsky, Honored Artist of Russia, rector of the Moscow Art Theater Studio School, ended on January 17 at the Chekhov Moscow Art Theater in Moscow.
The ceremony was organized on the Main stage of the theater. A coffin was placed on it, around which chairs were placed for those who came to say goodbye to the actor and the teacher.
Dozens of people carried flowers in the morning and gathered at the entrance to see Zolotovitsky off on his last journey. Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Russian Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova and Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin sent telegrams of condolences to the farewell ceremony.
"Being a good person is a profession, along with other professions, and being such a big, good person like Igor Yakovlevich is probably a vocation," actor Vladislav Vetrov told Izvestia.
Vladimir Mashkov, chairman of the Union of Theatrical Figures of the Russian Federation, artistic director-director of the Chekhov Moscow Art Theater, People's Artist of the Russian Federation Konstantin Khabensky, actors Igor Vernik, Andrey Smolyakov, Timofey Tribuntsev, Mila Yershova, Stanislav Duzhnikov and others were seen at the theater.
Zolotovitsky's coffin was carried out of the theater to the applause of fans of his talent who filled Kamergersky Lane. He will be buried at the Troekurovsky cemetery.
The farewell ceremony for the People's Artist of the Russian Federation began on the morning of January 17 at the Moscow Moscow Art Theater. Chekhov. Relatives, friends and colleagues of the artist gathered in the theater to lay flowers and pay their last respects. Zolotovitsky died on January 14 at the age of 65. The cause of the artist's death was cancer.
