Theater and film actor, People's Artist of Russia Dmitry Pevtsov, at the farewell ceremony with the rector of the Moscow Art Theater School, People's Artist of the Russian Federation Igor Zolotovitsky, on January 17, in a conversation with Izvestia, noted that he was a brilliant artist and would live in his students.

"He is a brilliant artist, an amazing presenter of our decades—long youth evenings at the Actor's house," said Pevtsov.

The actor added that Zolotovitsky was a very wise teacher, and his students, who graduated from the Moscow Art Theater Studio School, do not need an introduction.

"The whole country knows his students, and I think he will continue to live in them, in his students," he concluded.

The farewell ceremony for the People's Artist of the Russian Federation began earlier on January 17 at the Moscow Chekhov Moscow Art Theater. Relatives, friends and colleagues of the artist gathered in the theater to lay flowers and pay their last respects.

Zolotovitsky died on January 14 at the age of 65. The cause of the artist's death was cancer. The farewell to the artist was scheduled for January 17, on the main stage of the Chekhov Moscow Art Theater. On the same day, he will be buried at the Troekurovsky Cemetery in Moscow.
