Snow was brought to children in a snowless Turkish Hermendjik for 14 years.
In the Turkish city of Hermendzhik, three dump trucks with snow were brought to the children on the occasion of the holidays. This was announced on January 16 by the OdaTV TV channel.
According to the channel, there has been no snow in the city since February 2012, but this year's winter in Turkey turned out to be snowy. The mayor of Hermendzhik, Burak Zenjirji, called his colleague from Edemish, Mustafa Turan, and arranged with him to deliver snow on three dump trucks.
"We made a promise to our children: "We will bring snow to Hermendzhik." <...> We brought three trucks of snow to Hermendzhik for our children. The joy on their faces is worth everything," said Zenjirji.
The General Directorate of Meteorology (MGM) announced on December 25, 2025 that Siberian frosts and heavy snowfall are expected in Turkey. It was noted that the minimum temperature will reach minus three degrees in Ankara, below zero in Istanbul and -17 degrees in Erzurum.
