Cinematographer and director Anatoly Zabolotsky died at the age of 91.
Anatoly Zabolotsky, cinematographer and director, Honored Artist of the BSSR and the RSFSR, died at the age of 91. This was reported in the telegram channel of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia.
"Anatoly Dmitrievich Zabolotsky, a member of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia, cinematographer, director, Honored Artist of the BSSR, Honored Artist of the RSFSR, Honored Artist of the Republic of Khakassia, passed away at the age of 91," the message says.
Zabolotsky was born on September 16, 1935. As a cinematographer, he participated in the creation of 15 feature films and eight documentaries, including "Alpine Ballad" directed by Boris Stepanov, "Pechki Lavochki" and "Kalina Krasnaya" by actor and director Vasily Shukshin, as well as films directed by Alexander Mindadze and Vadim Abdrashitov.
In addition, Zabolotsky starred as an actor, and in 1979 he directed and wrote the documentary film "Mother's Word." He was a laureate of the Lenin Komsomol Prize and a recipient of the International Andrei Pervozvanny Prize.
