China urges the United States to abandon the idea of using military force in Iran
Washington should abandon its obsession with using military force against Tehran. This was announced on December 15 by Deputy Permanent Representative of the People's Republic of China (PRC) to the United Nations (UN) Sun Lei.
"We urge the United States to respect the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, abandon its obsession with the use of force, and call on all parties to exercise restraint," he said during a meeting of the UN Security Council.
The deputy permanent Representative stressed that any implemented adventure could push the region to an "unpredictable abyss." Based on this, Sun Lei called on representatives of all sides to maintain international peace and security.
Russia's permanent representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzia, who spoke at the same meeting, said that Washington was escalating tensions in Iran and urged it to abandon attempts to dictate its will to other states, imagining itself a "justice of the peace." Nebenzia also pointed to the decline in protest dynamics in the republic, where protests have been recorded for the second week, during which, according to CBS, from 12 thousand to 20 thousand people could have died.
