On January 15, the Russian Prosecutor General's Office declared undesirable the activities of the Canadian Fund for Local Initiatives.

"The Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation has decided to recognize the activities of the Canadian Fund for Local Initiatives financial structure under the Government of Canada as undesirable," the Prosecutor General's Office said in a statement on its website.

It is noted that the fund is managed by the Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and finances projects that "impose the interests and priorities of Ottawa." In particular, organizations that support the LGBT community (the movement is recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation) and contribute to the formation of a negative image of Russia are funded.

The Netherlands-based Stichting Justice Initiative was added to the list of undesirable organizations in Russia on December 22 last year. According to the agency, after Russia's withdrawal from the Council of Europe in March 2022, the organization's activities shifted to compiling reports on the human rights situation in the context of the Ukrainian conflict.
