More than 21 km of fishing nets seized from poachers in Murmansk region

Over the past 2025, 1,294 fishing violations were identified in the Murmansk Region, and 17 illegal fishing enthusiasts became involved in criminal cases. This is reported by the press service of the North Sea Department of Rosrybolovstvo.

The inspectors conducted 779 visits to the water areas of the region's water bodies. As part of the control measures, 1,209 mining implements were seized from the poachers, including 471 units of nets with a total length of over 21 km.

The total amount of fines issued reached 2.87 million rubles. Violators will also have to pay damages to the state in the amount of 19.09 million rubles.

According to the Bi-port news agency, in fact, the inspectors managed to collect 1.25 million rubles in fines and 2.36 million rubles in damages.
