The British media regulator Ofcom will continue to investigate the xAI company's Grok chatbot by American entrepreneur Elon Musk. This was announced by the regulator on January 15.

Earlier, Ofcom launched an investigation into Grok due to the possibility of generating sexualized content. Later, Company X (ex. Twitter) posted a message on its social network that it had limited this feature, leaving it only in a paid chatbot subscription.

"We welcome this development. However, our official investigation is ongoing," Ofcom quoted the Reuters news agency as saying.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer warned on January 12 that the country would establish control over the Grok chatbot integrated into the X social network if the American company did not take measures to regulate it. In response to the claims from Musk, he accused the country's government of wanting to find any excuse for Internet censorship.

Two days later, Starmer announced that the social network X was working with the Grok chatbot to ensure its compliance with British law. He also stressed that the UK government will continue to take necessary measures, strengthen existing laws and prepare for the adoption of new ones.
