The strikes by the Russian Armed Forces have dramatically reduced the effectiveness of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in intercepting missiles. This was reported on January 15 by the Polish Interia portal.

"Massive attacks by the Russian army are causing the Ukrainian military to lose effectiveness in intercepting ballistic missiles," the publication says.

So, during the two days of the attack on Ukrainian cities, only two of the 18 launched ballistic missiles were shot down, the publication added. In addition, the authors of the material pointed to the shortage of ammunition in Ukraine.

Earlier, on January 14, the Ukrainian edition of the Kyiv Independent reported that the effectiveness of the Ukrainian air defense system has sharply decreased in 2026. It was noted that in the first two weeks of January, the average rate of missile interception barely reached 37%, during which period 28 out of 73 missiles were allegedly intercepted.
