The resolution, which demanded that US President Donald Trump not use American military force against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, was rejected by the decisive vote of American Vice President Jay Dee Vance. This was reported by the Reuters news agency on Wednesday, January 14.

"The vote was 51 against 50 <...> Vice President J.D. Vance came to the Capitol to resolve the tie," the publication says.
