The ex-deputy chairman of the government of the Ivanovo region was arrested.

The former deputy representative of the government of the Ivanovo region, Yevgeny Nesterov, who had been detained a day earlier on suspicion of exceeding his authority in his position, was arrested. This was announced on Wednesday, January 14, by the press service of the regional prosecutor's office.

"The court has detained the former deputy chairman of the regional government," the department said in a statement posted on the Telegram channel.

It is emphasized that the decision was made taking into account the position of the prosecutor's office. The former deputy chairman was charged under Part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Abuse of official authority").
