Sobyanin established a commemorative badge "85 years of the Battle for Moscow"
A commemorative badge "85 years of the Battle of Moscow" was established in Moscow. The corresponding decree was signed by the Mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, on Wednesday, January 14.
It is noted that the sign is dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the beginning of the Soviet counteroffensive in the battle of Moscow. The award will be presented to veterans of the Great Patriotic War who were awarded the medal "For the Defense of Moscow", participants in the defense of the capital from October 1941 to April 1942, as well as those who continuously worked at Moscow enterprises and institutions during the war. The award ceremonies will be held from May to December 2026: in Moscow — with the participation of city structures and prefectures, in the regions and abroad — through the authorities and diplomatic missions of Russia, the Moscow City News Agency reports.
It is specified that the sign is made of gold-colored metal and decorated with a relief composition depicting the defenders of Moscow against the background of the Kremlin, and on the reverse side there is an inscription "Battle for Moscow 1941-2026" and an indication of the Moscow Government, writes Moscow 24.
