The Ministry of Health told about the condition of mothers and children discharged from the hospital in Novokuznetsk

All children and women discharged from the obstetric hospital in Novokuznetsk are at home in satisfactory condition, there are no signs of any infection. This was announced on January 14 by the press service of the Ministry of Health of Kuzbass.

The medical staff of the perinatal center, which includes maternity hospital No. 1, where nine newborns died during the New Year holidays, were also examined. No infectious diseases were detected in them.

"The condition of newborns undergoing inpatient treatment in the intensive care unit due to prematurity and, consequently, low body weight is monitored around the clock, and their management tactics have been coordinated with specialists from the relevant federal centers of the Russian Ministry of Health," the agency's website says.

Constant contact with parents is organized for infants. The situation is being personally monitored by the governor of the region, Ilya Seredyuk.

The head physician and the head of the intensive care unit are suspected of involvement in the deaths of nine babies.

Obstetric hospital No. 1 of the city clinical hospital No. 1 named after G.P. Kurbatov on January 13 in Novokuznetsk temporarily stopped receiving patients due to an excess incidence of respiratory infection. Subsequently, it became known about the death of nine babies in the hospital during the New Year holidays. The Russian Investigative Committee confirmed the death of newborns, and a criminal case was opened.

Seredyuk temporarily dismissed the chief physician of the Novokuznetsk maternity hospital. Perinatal centers in the Kemerovo region will be checked for readiness for difficult cases after the incident.

Later, the chief physician and the head of the intensive care unit were detained in Novokuznetsk after the deaths of the infants. They are suspected of committing crimes under Part 3 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code ("Negligence") and Part 3 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code ("Causing death by negligence to two or more persons due to improper performance of professional duties"). On January 14, the Prosecutor's office and the Investigative Committee for the region organized additional checks in connection with the incident.
