An initiative was submitted to the State Duma (DG) by deputies of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, headed by Deputy Chairman of the Central Committee of the party Yuri Afonin, according to which it is proposed to increase the length of service of medical workers involved in counter-terrorism operations (CTO) zones by one and a half times. This was confirmed by a corresponding letter on Wednesday, January 14.

"The insurance record of medical workers is counted one and a half times for the period during which they provided medical care to victims of hostilities in the territories of the Russian Federation or its individual areas where the legal regime of martial law or counter—terrorism operations has been introduced," RIA Novosti cites the contents of the message.

One of the co-authors of the bill proposed for implementation, MP Alexey Kurinny, explained to the agency that this measure is necessary, since medical workers working in the CTU stay away from family and home for a long time, helping the wounded. In addition, as the activist clarified, they risk their lives, saving people "from the other world" without regard to the official schedule and time of day.

According to the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation, which appeared on January 9, in Russia, the share of salaries in the salary structure of health workers was maintained at a level not lower than 50%. It was emphasized that health workers retain a salary not lower than the amount received in 2025.
