Trump has promised to deport naturalized citizens for fraud
The United States will revoke citizenship from foreigners accused of fraud. This was announced on January 13 by US President Donald Trump.
"We're also going to strip citizenship from any naturalized immigrant from Somalia or anywhere else who is convicted of defrauding our citizens, but first we're going to get the hell out of here," the American leader said at a meeting in Detroit.
He noted that many migrants are now receiving financial support from the state, according to him, almost all Somalis are supported by the United States. Trump announced that from now on, migrants will not be able to send these funds abroad.
In his opinion, a huge number of people are "deceiving the country" in this way. Because of these "abuses," Trump allowed migrants to stop receiving these funds.
The Washington Post (WP) newspaper, citing estimates from economists, reported on January 13 that in 2025, more immigrants left the United States than they arrived in the country, which happened for the first time in at least 50 years. According to the publication, the migration balance of the United States in 2025 turned out to be negative: net migration to the country decreased by 10 thousand people and amounted to 295 thousand.
