Eduard Shalonosov, a lawyer in the field of tourism, told how to get compensation from the airline for the loss of luggage.

In an interview with Radio 1 on Tuesday, January 13, the expert emphasized that if luggage is lost, three compensation options are possible: a fixed payment of up to 600 rubles per 1 kg, insurance compensation or compensation for actual expenses.

According to him, the passenger needs to file a baggage claim, and the responsibility for compensation in any case lies with the airline, since baggage is often lost due to theft or shipment to another country.

The lawyer noted that it is not worth saving on insurance, as its cost is usually significantly lower than the value of the contents of the suitcase. He also stressed that if the baggage is found, the airline is obliged to deliver it to the passenger at any place free of charge, and the requirement to pick it up yourself is illegal.

In addition, Shalonosov warned that even in the case of a baggage refund, the carrier is not exempt from the obligation to compensate for the costs of essentials purchased while waiting, writes RT.

In December, it was reported that the list of items illegally moved in circumvention of customs legislation does not change depending on the season. The press service of the Federal Customs Service of Russia said that, as a rule, passengers try to illegally import clothes, accessories, jewelry and watches, as well as cash.

Lawyer Anastasia Rudakova said that for the absence of a baggage declaration, passengers are fined. It is necessary to declare goods whose value exceeds the established limit. Jewelry, large amounts of cash, electronics, alcohol, tobacco, some medicines and food are subject to mandatory declaration, the website writes. kp.ru .

Expert Oleg Panteleev told Moscow 24 that, according to the federal aviation regulations in force in the Russian Federation, Russian airlines must deliver passengers and luggage to their destination on one flight. These regulations do not apply to foreign carriers. If the suitcases are delayed upon arrival at the resort, customers must be reimbursed for the cost of their waiting period.

At the same time, lawyer Alexander Zorin pointed out that instead of two suitcases, you can take one, so as not to overpay for luggage. This is a combination of baggage, which is acceptable on Russian airlines flights. It is available to spouses, family members, as well as colleagues and friends.
