Psychologist gave advice to drivers on changing from "holiday mode"
Psychologist Svetlana Pulya told how the driver can bring the brain out of the "holiday" mode into the "road" mode without nerves and breakdowns.
In an interview with Auto Mail on Tuesday, January 13, the specialist noted that planning a trip helps to reduce stress while driving: a clear route and understanding of travel time reduce the feeling of uncertainty and shift the brain from anxious waiting mode to task execution mode. This allows you to save internal resources and feel calmer.
The specialist also recommended consciously creating an audio medium — music, podcasts or audiobooks. According to her, such a "sound background" works as cognitive protection, helps to manage attention and reduces the influence of annoying factors of the road. In traffic jams, she advises practicing breathing techniques that calm the nervous system and regain control of emotions.
The doctor noted that returning to the usual rhythm and daily trips can be used as an opportunity to form healthier habits — to develop awareness and emotional stability behind the wheel.
Psychologist Olga Tvardovskaya noted on January 7 that drivers show aggression at the wheel because of a sense of security in their car. Another reason may be a conflict that occurred on the eve of the trip.
In August last year, psychologist Alexander Kichaev, in an interview with Life.ru He called for drinking more water and listening to music during long traffic jams. Water helps to combat fatigue, and good music promotes relaxation, reducing anxiety and heart palpitations. 360.ru .
Earlier, Vladimir Mendelevich, a psychiatrist, psychotherapist, and professor at Kazan State Medical University, told NSN that the idea of taking away a driver's license when a person is diagnosed with depression is utopian and disastrous, since, firstly, it cannot be detected by a simple preventive examination, and secondly, people with diagnoses will simply be afraid to go to the doctors.
