By the end of 2025, 87.6 thousand new light commercial vehicles (LCVs) were sold in Russia, which is 21.9% less than in the previous year. This is stated in the report of the analytical agency Autostat, which was received by Izvestia on December 14.

The agency noted that they carried out calculations according to their own segmentation. For example, they attributed some pickups to passenger cars rather than LCVs.

About half (47.44%) of the LCV market belongs to the domestic GAZ brand, which accounts for almost 41.6 thousand units sold. It is also followed by Russian brands — Lada (15.1 thousand units), UAZ (10.9 thousand units) and Sollers (7496 units). The most successful among foreign cars is the Chinese Foton (2142 units), which became the fifth. Mercedes-Benz, Isuzu, KamAZ, Hyundai and Dongfeng rounded out the top ten.

Despite the general decline in the market, the top ten brands included brands that are "in the black," experts said. In 2025, sales of Foton light commercial vehicles more than doubled (+101.9%). Positive dynamics was also noted for Mercedes-Benz (+40.9%), Lada (+25.4%), Hyundai (+4.2%) and Isuzu (+1.7%).

The results of KAMAZ are exactly the same as in 2024. The other four brands show a decline, with Dongfeng having the deepest decline (-58.6%). At the same time, sales of UAZ decreased by 37.7%, GAZ — by 31.2%, and Sollers — by 26.5%.

The Gazelle Next remains the leader among the models, which sold 21.1 thousand units last year, which is about a quarter of the market. Only representatives of the domestic automotive industry are present in the top ten bestsellers.

The day before, it was reported that by the end of 2025, the total volume of the Russian car market decreased by 19% compared to 2024 and amounted to 1.49 million units. In the segment of medium-tonnage trucks, the market fell by 44%, while the volume of the heavy-duty truck market more than halved (-54%).
