Starting from February 1, 2026, Russia will host a planned annual indexation of social benefits, which will affect families with children, pensioners, the disabled, veterans and other beneficiaries. This was reported to Izvestia by State Duma deputy from the Liberal Democratic Party, Deputy Chairman of the Budget and Taxes Committee Kaplan Panes.

Single benefit from January 1, 2026: new accrual rules and payment amounts

Starting in 2026, sick leave and maternity payments will be counted as labor income.

According to the parliamentarian, the main indexation coefficient in 2026 will correspond to the actual inflation rate for the previous year.

"Starting from February 1, 2026, Russia will host a planned annual indexation of key social benefits. The main indexation coefficient will be 6.8%. The increase will happen automatically, and recipients do not need to submit additional applications," Panes said.

He clarified that the indexation will primarily affect payments to families with children. In particular, the amount of maternity capital will be increased.

"The amount for the first child will be 737,205 rubles, and for the second — 974,189 rubles. This brings the maternity capital closer to the million mark for the first time," the deputy said.

In addition, the one-time allowance for the birth of a child will increase to 28,773 rubles, and the monthly child care allowance for mothers who were laid off during pregnancy due to the liquidation of the organization will increase to 10,790 rubles.

Panes also recalled that starting from February 1, the monthly cash payment for beneficiaries will be indexed.

"EDV will increase by 6.8% for disabled people of all groups, combat veterans, participants of the Great Patriotic War, citizens affected by radiation, and other categories. At the same time, the cost of a set of social services will be recalculated," he explained.

According to the MP, the total amount of payments for a particular person or family may depend on the income level and the regional subsistence level.
